Harold and I have said Goodbye to a few more friends and residents in the last couple of days, and we have some new arrivals. As you all know, it’s now summertime! Yea!!!!! That means a slower work pace with more time to play. We have spaces available this summer, until October 1, 2025. Please call Linda for your reservation if you haven’t already done so.
As for activities during the slower summer months, we still have potluck and shuffleboard tournaments. Also, game nights will depend on whether anyone wants to play or not. If you’re going to play, just let Linda know, and she’ll find out how many others are interested in playing. There is a variety of games that we play, Hand & Foot, Michigan Rummy, Pinochle, Marble Sorry, Mexican Tain, 42 (dominos) or if there is a game you know and want to play we would love for you to teach us your favorite game. Lady’s lunch and turn into park resident’s lunch; all are welcome to attend.
Just a little tip for the summer heat. Stay hydrated, and stay covered. A person would think that if you wear long sleeves it would make you hot, but that is not necessarily true. If you wear a lightweight long-sleeved shirt in light colors like white, you will stay cooler. If you need to be out in the heat, drink lots of water, wear a wide-brimmed hat and a long-sleeved shirt, and take plenty of breaks inside. Also the less stress on your air conditioners the less trouble for you in the long run, please do not run your air conditioner with the windows or door open.
